GoAhead Software announces 35,000 deployments and inks new deals
Leading service availability and management middleware advances market position with unmatched field success and growing customer traction

BELLEVUE, Wash. — June 26, 2008 — GoAhead® Software, the worldwide leader in open standards-based high availability and systems management middleware for carrier-grade and mission critical systems, today announces more than 35,000 commercial deployments of GoAhead SelfReliant® middleware, the company’s flagship product. Customers such as Alcatel-Lucent,  Motorola, and LG-Nortel successfully rely on GoAhead solutions to ensure 99.999 percent availability or greater in the field. Increasing its leadership position in the marketplace, GoAhead recently edged out competition in several deals including Convergys, a global leader in end-to-end customer care and business support solutions, as well as a leading provider of mobile network integration, triple play and business services to wireline and mobile networks.

“Our customers are developing systems that are mission-critical, and they are looking for help to ensure uninterrupted service, and on-time delivery,” says Jim Ewel, GoAhead CEO and chairman. “We are thrilled to be able to provide customers with proven solutions that lead the market not only in functionality and in support of service availability standards, but also in field success. Our job is to ensure the success of our customers, and we take that job very seriously,” Ewel continues.

“Starting with one CDMA wireless network element in 2002, Motorola now leverages GoAhead to ensure uninterrupted service of more than ten different network elements across our wireless portfolio,” says Paul Steinberg, vice president and Motorola Fellow. “From project to project, this common, COTS application-ready platform works deterministically out of the gate. This significantly increases our success in new projects,” Steinberg explains.

GoAhead success is helped by the company’s newest product line, GoAhead SAFfire™ middleware -- general availability announced in January of this year. Many recent wins are attributed to SAFfire. One customer providing a comprehensive IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), is on schedule to deploy in 2008. Leveraging SelfReliant’s proven code base, SAFfire features sophisticated availability and management capabilities, as well as platform independence. Most notably, SAFfire boasts the most comprehensive implementation of the Service Availability Forum (SA Forum) Application Interface Specification (AIS).
